• feel helpless and overwhelmed and have little hope for the future;
  
• have a dual diagnosis - if you experience more than one clinical problem, e.g. depression and substance abuse;
  
• have severe mental health issues e.g. trauma, high anxiety and severe depression;
  
• have relationship problems;
  
• continue to repeat the same patterns that provide the same negative outcomes; and
  
• experience psychotic symptoms such as paranoia, visual and tactile hallucinations, and  hearing voices.​
